🔹 1. What type of surface should I place the tower on?
Answer:
Place your tower on a flat, stable, and hard surface such as a cemented rooftop, balcony floor, or tiled area. Avoid placing directly on soil or grass unless you have a proper base support.
🔹 2. Do I need to drill or fix the tower to the floor?
Answer:
No drilling is required. The tower is freestanding, but we recommend using an anti-tip stand or stabilizer if your terrace is very windy.
🔹 3. How much sunlight is required at the location?
Answer:
Your installation spot should receive a minimum of 4–6 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal vegetable growth. South or west-facing areas are usually ideal.
🔹 4. Is access to water necessary at the tower’s location?
Answer:
Yes. You should have easy access to water near the tower. This can be a tap, a hosepipe, or a watering can. Avoid installing too far from a water source.
🔹 5. Should I prepare the soil before the tower arrives?
Answer:
If you're using your own soil, prepare a well-draining potting mix with compost, garden soil, and cocopeat. If you’ve opted for Veg Roof’s soil mix, no preparation is needed—we deliver it ready-to-use.
🔹 6. Do I need any tools or equipment before installation?
Answer:
Not necessarily. The tower is designed for tool-free assembly, but a small garden trowel or gloves can help during soil filling and sowing. We send these if part of your selected kit.
🔹 7. Should I clean the installation area before the team arrives?
Answer:
Yes. Ensure the area is swept and clear of clutter so that our team can install quickly and safely. If you're assembling yourself, a clean surface helps avoid soil spills.
🔹 8. Is electricity required for the tower setup?
Answer:
No. There is no electricity required unless you're planning to install an automatic watering system, which is optional and discussed post-purchase.
🔹 9. Can I install the tower on uneven or sloped surfaces?
Answer:
It is not recommended. Uneven surfaces can cause tilting or poor water drainage. Use a leveling base or choose another area with a firm and even floor.
🔹 10. Should I inform my society or landlord before installation?
Answer:
If you live in a rented house or society flat, it’s a good idea to inform your RWA or landlord—especially for installations on shared rooftops or external balconies.
